Pingree Park Garden: Spring cleanup : many hands
At this time of year we think of Spring being just around the corner. We anxiously await bulbs to pop through and the forsythia to sprout their yellow blooms. On Saturday, March 26, a large group gathered to prep the garden for spring. They brought clippers and buckets and went to work! Many stayed for a pruning workshop with Matt Martin. He guided us through basic pruning, demonstrating on a few different shrub types, answered questions and provided some take home information.
Pingree Park Garden is a mini Public Garden or a ‘Garden Space’ that lives as a project maintained by HWGC members and volunteers, for many years to come.

Garden to Renew, Restore, and Revitalize As Lady Bird Johnson once said, "Where flowers bloom, so does hope." Although this past year saw isolation, cancellation, anxiety, and grief, we hope that gardening, whether the physical act or the enjoyment of, brought peace and nourishment to your soul. We look forward to a year filled with enlightenment, joy, friendship, and laughter! "To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow." - Audrey Hepburn ![]() Every day can be Earth Day!
