Every day can be Earth Day!
Help clean up the banks of a stream or a beach that ‘somehow’ collects trash. Find and pull, cut down (or dig out as appropriate) invasive plants that have taken over from native plants. Plant Massachusetts natives to provide the food needed by native birds, bees and butterflies. Not sure where to find them or what to plant? Check out Grow Native Massachusetts or Native Plant Finder Conservation is an ongoing theme for the club. Good soil reduces erosion, increases water infiltration and storage & improves air and water quality. Composting helps! Let's improve our soil quality and productivity. As we all know, it truly takes a village to create something that will stand the test of time. The Pingree Park Garden will be ongoing, beyond the two year plan, and into the five year plan and eight year plan; a project that will be maintained by HWGC for many years down the road
