Wednesday, September 22nd, 7pm

A WELCOME BACK CELEBRATION
for HWGC members

The Community House, 284 Bay Road
Catered Dinner, $30. Please see member's emails for RSVP information.

Vaccination, Masks, and Social Distancing Required

We will gather together to catch up with old friends and meet the newest members
of the club. Co-Presidents Paula Bartlett and Lisa Harrison will share Garden Club
happenings, and the Program Committee will give an overview of upcoming events.
Matt Martin and Jessica Burt are the first guest speakers of the season! This talk will
focus on connecting nature and history through growing beautiful gardens. Gardens can
be sustainable, supportive of our local wildlife, all while paying tribute to our sense of
place here in New England.

Jessica is a history professor at NSCC, focusing on environmental history and world
history. She is also the co-advisor to the Environmental Club at NSCC.

Matt is the Building and Grounds Restoration Manager for the Danvers Historical
Society, which owns Glen Magna Farms. He has been a member of HWGC since 2019.

Catered Dinner – Due to the continued need to follow COVID-19 protocols, the dinner
will be catered by Henry’s Fine Foods. There will be a $30 charge for this celebratory
evening. Watch for your email invitation. PLEASE NOTE: Face masks will be required
except when seated and dining.

Creative Tablescaping – One of the fun parts of this event is that everyone brings
their own plates, glass, and utensils. Some members enjoy getting creative, while
other bring their own paper/plastic. Anything goes!
