Let's welcome the holiday season with Amy Bottomley Cavilla and Caroline Esdaile
as they create floral designs we can use in the coming festive days ahead.

Based in an 18th century barn in Hamilton, Two Finches Design Studio blossomed
from a shared love of all things floral. Owners Amy and Caroline delight in sourcing, prepping, arranging, and sharing their beautiful designs with the Hamilton, Ipswich, Beverly and Cape Ann communities and beyond. In addition to personal arrangements and private events, the Finches are best known for their monthly subscription service. Stylistically, the Finches are up for any challenge and passionately produce custom arrangements that range from the ethereal and romantic, to the architectural and modern. These Finches love flowers and look forward to sharing
that passion with you!

As this is our Fall Fundraiser, we will be raffling off her fabulous creations. With the techniques she's using, they are sure to be a delight.

Field Trip:
Long Hill in Beverly | Friday, September 23, 2022 at 11:00 am
Dan Bouchard will be our tour guide. The tour is a
walking tour, over grass and paths.
It should be about an hour.  We will meet Dan in the parking lot just before the mansion.

The Sedgwick’s mansion has also been renovated and is now open to the public.
After our tour, you should feel welcome to take a look at the refurbished hand painted wall paper
in the front hall, the renowned botanical library, and the new gift shop.

Fee: $15 payable to HWGC with a deadline of Sept. 23rd. Checks should be made out to HWGC
and sent to Mardi Lowery (112 Cedar St., Wenham, 01984).
You can also just come on Friday and have a check with you.

                             LEARN TO PRUNE AND EXPERIENCE
OUR FIRST
TOOL OFF

for HWGC members / Open to the Public, $10 donation suggested

Miles River Middle School, 787 Bay Road, Hamilton
Please register via Eventbrite to attend this event.
Vaccinations highly recommended, Masks and Social Distancing Optional

This talk will feature the Club’s very own Matt Martin. He will focus on understanding
the basic concepts of pruning in a New England garden. The talk will include pruning for
proper plant health care with a heavy focus on the “why” rather than the “how.”

Have you ever heard of a “tool off”? This fun and educational contest is open to any
interested member! You will bring your one favorite hand-held garden tool, and have a
few minutes to pitch it to a small group as to why it’s your favorite. Then we’ll have the
winners from each group pitch to the crowd. Finally, we will vote on the best tool!
